I'm glad he doesn't have the know-how to fling it!

I always heard about how people were so amazed about the things that took over as primary conversations in their relationships after they had kids. Aaaaaand now I know for myself--we loooooove to talk about poo! Christopher hadn't made any poopies for like 3 days, but gave me the honor of that oh-so-telling facial expression a couple of hours ago. I decided to wait it out for a few and make sure he was done (we've made the mistake of jumping the gun too early a couple of times, and that was weird is all I can say!).

So I lay down my sweet little innocent angel-faced boy, who mind you is all smiles and coos (now I know why)....open the diaper and O.M.G! Yeah, he was covered literally completely from front to back, bow to stern, engine to kaboose if you will. I had never seen that much crap in my entire life! David and I just stood there in amazement for a minute before we just started cracking up. I said to the little one..."I'm not even mad, that was amazing!" (I heart Ron Burgandy)

I couldn't even tackle it with wipes so I took his dirty little bum over to the sink to hose him down! Scenes from Three Men and a Baby came to mind---I should really rent that movie---new #1 on the ole Blockbuster queue for me! But I digress...

Anyway, I just had this overwhelming need to share that with anyone who was willing to read it. So now it is forever etched in public record that Christopher dropped the biggest load in history today. The End.

So So SO disturbing!

So last night I decided to take advantage of David feeding Christopher, and jumped at the chance to take a quick shower. I stroll into the bedroom to get some clothes together and turn around and just happen to glance down at the floor in front of David's dresser.

"Well what in the world is tha...oh...oh my God...OH my GOD....Oh Oh OH MY GAWWWD!!!" is almost verbatim what came out of my mouth! What is the cause of my dismay you wonder? Well, I'll tell you.....sitting in the floor is half a baby bunny. Yeah, I said HALF a baby bunny!!!! I'm talking all I see is gore followed by the cute little furry tail and legs....there's what must have been a front paw casually tossed a few inches away and some sort of an organ tossed a few inches in another direction.

I go to the living room with a look of disgust and horror on my face and tell David what I've discovered. So he hands off Goo and gets a plastic bag and towel to go and take care of the carnage. As he walks out of the bedroom toward the front door he says "I hear rabbits feet are supposed to be lucky...you want one?" He really thought he was funny. Geeeeez.

So here is what disturbs me the most...I KNOW one of the cats did it, because Buddy is banned from the bedroom via baby-gate for the time being...I highly suspect it was my little "angel" Charles; he was the one who brought in a little bunny just the other day (Gasp! Could it be the same poor little bunny???). But I never heard any kind of noises or anything, so I don't know if the bunny was found in his condition and brought in for sport, or if one of my kitties was really capable of doing this. Unfortunately, if the massacre did occur in our room, there's a cute little bunny head somewhere yet to be discovered. I guess time will tell...if it's still here, I'm sure it will start stinkin to high heaven here pretty soon!

Sigh.

Ahhhh home again...

We have spent the past two weekends in a row in Norman--but now we are home for a few weeks and I am ecstatic! I'm really excited that tomorrow is Friday and I don't have to worry about trying to pack clothes for the weekend! ;) Good times.

Can you believe that Christopher is 8 weeks old today??! He really is growing every day and changing before my eyes. It's really awesome to get to see him morph into a beautiful little man.

My little Goo is doing fantastically this week. I've kind of taken it upon myself to be the bathtime guru and have really been enjoying bathtime since he can finally be fully submerged in water. I'm shooting for every other day when I can get him to cooperate, but ya know, whatever. One thing I've learned this week, Goo loves his baths, but he hate-hate-hates getting out! I swear you would think I was performing some sort of cruel torture when he comes out of there. I mean, I know it's a little chilly, but gah, don't be such a baby about it! Sheesh. :P

Ummm what else? Really nothing much--this week has pretty much flown by. I can't believe it's the middle of April already. My time off of work is coming to a rapid close with only 3 more weeks to go. :( I am really not looking forward to starting back again. I mean, yeah it'll be nice to get back to my peeps, but it breaks my heart that Christopher will have to go to daycare now. I really need to start playing Powerball....

Gummy Grins!

It's been a few weeks since I posted anything, so it's really more out of a sense of obligation than anything that I'm writing today...
So what's been going on? A whole lotta nothing! Christopher still pretty much sleeps most of the day, which is nice but does not allow me to be as productive as I would have thought! He very much likes to sleep on our chests, so I have to draw upon all of my stealthy ninja skills to lay him down during the day so that I can do anything other than hold him and watch bad daytime television. Rough, I know. ;)

He is growing very very well! He had a mini-check up at the doctor's office on 4/1 and he weighed in at a hefty 9lb 11oz, and was a lanky 21" long! My boy is just growing before my very eyes. He is 6 weeks old now, and he's just recently started smiling!!! I just LOVE those gummy grins! They're very elusive, but I managed to get a good one this past weekend...

We went to Norman this weekend--Christopher's cousins, Katie and Trace, had their birthday party on Sunday...his first big party! He was quite the party animal...in his dreams, I'm sure! The party was really fun and quite the ruckus when the present-opening ceremony launched, but Goo slept right through it. It was really impressive...I brag about my own sleeping skills on occasion, but I was put to shame.

We will be going back to Norman for Easter--he has a cute little "Baby's First Easter" outfit...complete with bunny faces on the feet of his pants and a fuzzy little bunny tail on the bum. Soooooo adorable!

David and I are doing well--we've got a pretty good schedule going, but I'll tell you what, whenever we have to deviate from it and either of us takes two or three consecutive feedings it's pretty brutal! I had one of those nights last night and I pretty much wanted to catch my hair on fire this morning when I had to get up for feeding #3. But ya know, whatever. That's why they make babies so cute, I've decided...it's hard to resent something so adorable, even at the expense of sleepytime.
